Mrs. Josephine B. Jacobs Dies; Rites Thursday

Mrs. Josephine B. Jacobs, 86 years old, a resident of Indianapolis the last 20 years, died yesterday afternoon in her home, 5147 Carrollton avenue, after an illness of 10 weeks.

Mrs. Jacobs was a native of Madison, where she had been a member of the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church 50 years. She was the widow of Andrew Jacobs, retired superintendent of the Madison water works, who died in 1934.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 o'clock Thursday morning in the Flanner & Buchanan mortuary, 25 West Fall Creek parkway, and at 9 o'clock in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Madison.

Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Mary Smith of Madison and Mrs. Laura Reinhardt, Mrs. Clara Walsh, Mrs. Jewel Goodwin, Miss Rosena Jacobs and Miss Alice Jacobs, all of Indianapolis; a son Charles E. Jacobs of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
