HB Denman, physician was born in Spring Creek Township, Miami Co, OH Feb 4, 1843 and is a son of Abraham and Margaret A Denman whose death occurred in 1855. Abraham married for his second wife, Catherine Lee, and now resides in Miami Co, OH. HB was raised on his fathers farm, assisting in all the duties connected with agricultural pursuits until his majority, his early education was obtained in the district schools. In 1864, he entered the schools of Dayton, OH where he remained until March 4 of the following spring, at this time commenced the study of medicine under Prof DD Bramble of Cincinnati. HB applied his time closely and allowed no thought on other occupation to trouble his mind; in 1866, he attended his first course of lectures at the Cincinnati College of Medicine and Surgery, from which he graduated in 1869. On June 1, 1870, he commenced the practice of his profession in Lena, where he has since been located, attending closely to all duties of the medical profession. Sept 24, 1874, his nuptial was celebrated with Rose H Brecount, she was born July 30, 1846. One child was born the them July 9, 1875, Mattie B.

Dr HB Denman, a prominent physician dropped dead of heart disease in the favorite cigar store and barber shop on the south side of the square in Sidney Saturday afternoon.
He was stricken shortly after he entered the store and fell upon the floor. Assistance was immediately given him and he was taken to the city emergency hospital but he was beyond human aid and it is believed that he died almost instantly. He had been a suffer of heart trouble for a number of years.
Dr Denman was 71 years of age was for many years a well known resident of Lena where he practiced medicine for years. For the past few years he spent th emost of his time with his daughter, Mrs EA Yates in Sidney. Mrs Clyde Buckles of Knoxville, TN is the other surviving member of the family.
Mr Denman was twice married, his first wife being Rose Brecount and his second wife who died about 3 years ago was Hannah Cowgill. He was the owner of the home property in Lena and a farm located near that place.
