PEORIA - Bernard "Timer" Lane Jr., 65, of Clinton, Ill., father of area residents, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Harp Township, DeWitt County, Ill., the son of Bernard Lane Sr. and Viola Welch Lane. He married Gina Moore on Dec. 29, 1964, in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Gina Lane; one daughter, Loretta (Todd) Gavin; four sons, Jeff Lane, Larry Lane, Lonnie (Chris) Lane and Jamie Lane; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carroll (Carol) Lane, Ronnie (Millie) Thrasher and Kenny Thrasher and three sisters, Evelyn (Wendall) Rudesill, Betty Deavers and Patricia (Lawrence) Stephenson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. Timer had retired from Thrall Car Company in Clinton. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, quilting and model railroading.
The family would like to especially thank Ruby Smith, Dale Ballenger, Pat Brockman, Jody Lane and OSF Hospice of Bloomington.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton, Ill. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Bernard Lane Jr. Memorial Fund at the funeral home.
