Mrs. Cullifer was a resident of Lynn Haven for over 30 years. She was a member of the Panama City Art Association and a well known artist in the area. Her love of lighthouses and the history and charm they brought to enthusiasts led her to paint the "Florida Lighthouse Collection". The works have been on loan to the Historical Society of Apalachicola, St. Joe and Panama City Libraries and are currently awaiting approval to be installed in the Historical Section of the State Library in Tallahassee. She became affectionately known in Lynn Haven as the "Lighthouse Lady". Much to the delight of the children at Lynn Haven Elementary, located across the street from her home, she displayed a miniature replica of a traditional lighthouse on her front walkway. When she turned 80 years young she documented her life and published her biography "Beacons" Memories of a Georgia Farm Girl. Mary Alice was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Lynn Haven chapter 262 and an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Lynn Haven, FL.She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Arnice Douglas Cullifer and her daughter, Mary Faith Whiteside Bingham.She is survived by her daughters; a son-in-law; 16 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven with Dr. Dan Mitchell officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cullifer's grandsons are honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Friday prior to the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven in memory of Mrs. Cullifer.
