George H. Brown, 95 of Paxton died Monday at Ford County Nursing Home in Paxton. His funeral will be conducted Thursday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton with the Rev. Doug Bradley officiating; burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. He was born 3-4-1896 in Aden, a son of William H. and Emma Davis Brown. He married Dorothy M. Smith, his wife of 75 years, on 8-5-1916 in Aden; she died 11-27-1991. Also surviving are three sons, Leroy M. of Paxton; Ernest E. of Gibson City and Robert L. of Rantoul; three daughters, Edna Marie Anderson of Lexington; Dorothy Christiansen of Memphis, Tennessee and Flossie Mae Brucker of Sibley; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one sister, Lydia Crisel of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by two sons. two brothers and one sister. Mr. Brown spent his early years in Aden where he attended school. He was president of Paxton Cornbelt Store from 1951 to 1965 and member of Southern Baptist Church of Paxton.
