Death of Sweet Little Girl
Theresa Louise Augustin Succumbed to Brief Illness Early This Morning
Friends were saddened today when they learned of the death of little Theresa Louise Augustin, aged seven years, daughter of Mr. Joseph Augustin, which occurred at 7 o'clock this morning at the Augustin residence on the Michigan hill.
The little girl was taken ill of arsenic poisoning about four weeks ago and all medical aid was given but proved no avail and early this morning her gently spirit took its flight to realms beyond leaving the family sad and grief-stricken.
Theresa had entered the North Madison school last fall and showed remarkable intelligence for one of her age and the news of her death has come as great shock to her teacher and little school mates She was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was faithful in her attendance. She was seven years of age on October 18th, this year.
Surviving to mourn their loss are her father, two sisters, Mary Margaret and Helen, and one little brother, Joseph, besides a wide circle of other relatives and friends. Her mother, formerly Miss Margaret Massing, preceded her to the Home Beyond three years ago last July.
Funeral services are to be held in St. Patrick's church in North Madison at 9 o'clock Friday morning interment to be made in St. Joseph's cemetery. For several years the Augustin family resided on north Walnut street this city and many friends here will learn of the passing of the little girl with deepest regret and join The Herald in extending their profound sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
