Elsie M. Bangs, 70, of 423 Balderson, Pearl Lake Apartments, Sheridan, died today, Nov. 20, 1986, at Metropolitan Hospital, Grand Rapids.

A longtime resident of the Sheridan area, she was born march 26, 1917, in Lowell, the daughter of Charles and Anna Herring Keech.

A retired receptionist for Sheridan Community Hospital where she was employed for 25 years, Mrs. Bangs was active with the Montcalm County Commission on Aging, formerly active in the Red Cross, organizer of the Sheridan Pedro Club for senior citizens, past president of Sheridan Hospital Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gain.

Survivng are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Alice Bridinger, Ocala, Fla., two sisters, Alice Harrison, Ionia, Jennie Heath, Sheridan; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral survices are 10 a.m. Saturday at Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan, the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment is in Oakwood Cemetery, Lowell.

The family will meet with friends and relatives Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home where envelopes are available for memorial contributions to the Commission on Aging.
