Mrs. Borders taught elementary art for several years in Rush County. She was a member of St. John's UCC Church in Vincennes. She was secretary of the council at Piankeshaw Place where she lived in Vincennes and was involved in many activities there.
Survivors include her mother, Emy Waggener of Connersville; sisters, Cathy (Don) Kirk of Vincennes, Sharon Rehme of Connecticut and Jane Swartz of Philadelphia; brother, Joe Waggener of Connersville; son, Jack (Amy) Hodge of Carmel; and grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Holden and Holly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy "Bob" Waggener; son, Michael Engle; and brother, Tim Rehme.
A celebration of her life was held Saturday in St. John's UCC Church in Vincennes with the Rev. Kate Lambertson officiating.
