Funeral services for George Decker of Hudson, South Dakota will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31st at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church, rural Beresford. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the church with the family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
George Decker was born July 30, 1980 in Parkston, SD to George and Rebecca (Hofer) Decker. He died July 28, 2007, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, at the age of 26 years, 11 months and 28 days.
George was raised in Tschetter Colony, South Dakota and graduated from Beresford High School in 1999. He worked as a carpenter in construction. He married Julie Peterson June 28, 2003 at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church in Beresford. George adored his son, Caleb. He liked to hunt and bow fish as well as to ride his motorcycle.
He leaves behind his wife, Julie Decker and son, Caleb Decker both of Hudson; his parents, George & Rebecca Decker of Alcester; his father-in-law, Donald Peterson of Viborg; mother-in-law, Susan Peterson of Beresford; grandmother-in-law, Frieda Bos of Beresford; paternal grandmother, Margaret Decker of Canton; three brothers, Kenneth Decker of Nevada, IA, Matthew (Larisa) Decker of Alcester and Daniel Decker of Beresford; two sisters, Reba (Josh) Watkins of Alcester and Rose Decker of Alcester and her fiancé, Anthony Reimnitz. Also surviving are George's two brothers-in-law, Aaron Peterson of Sioux Falls and Wade (Dawn) Peterson of Viborg; many aunts, uncles and cousins..
