Luther Emmet Arnold was born in the Houston, Texas Co., Missouri area in May 1894. According to the 1900 census, he was the youngest son of William C. Arnold and Margaret "Maggie" J. Dunaway. After the death of mother, Maggie, Emmet is shown in the 1910 census, living as a Matthews, with his sister, Laura Elizabeth Arnold and her husband, Walter Anderson Matthews, who were married in approx. 1902.

At the age of 21, Emmet was 1st married on January 8, 1915 in Benton County, Arkansas to Minnie Reavis, daughter of William W. Reavis and Sarah "Sallie" Beaver. They had no children. We don't know if Emmet was divorced or a widower when he was remarried to his sister-in-law, Jewel (Cox) Reavis, who was previously married to Orbry Reavis.

Emmett was 2nd married to Jewel (Cox) Reavis, who was previously married to Orbry Frank Reavis. Emmet and Jewel never had any children together but raised Jewel's 3 Reavis' daughters from her previous marriage.

Emmet and Jewel were buried alongside of Emmet's sister, Laura Elizabeth (Arnold) (Matthews) Pannell in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Rogers Co., Oklahoma.

Emmet and Laura's father, William C. Arnold is buried at the Oakley Chapel Cemetery in Rogers, Benton Co., Arkansas, along with several other Arnold family member.
