Graveside services were held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Woodbine Cemetery for Edna L. Shannon, of Odessa, Texas.

Mrs. Shannon, 86, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Odessa.

Rev. Allen Harris officiated at the services.

Mrs. Shannon was born May 16, 1922 in Coweta, Oklahoma; the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Fanning and Amanda May (Mahan)Fanning.

On June 5, 1944 she was married to W.T. "Pete" Shannon. She came to Artesia in 1945. He preceded her in death 1984.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include brother Loy Fanning of Friendly, W. Virginia; sister Betty Sheppard of Friendly; nephew Orin Flynn of Baytown, Texas; nieces Pamela Harris of Odessa, Elizabeth Sanders of Odessa, and Rachel Lewis of Sisterville, W. Virginia.
