Jackie Wayne Singleton, 11, of 700 Rose Dale Arch, died at his residence Friday morning after a long illness.
He was born in Charleston but had lived in Columbia for the last 10 years. He was the son of Hallie Ernest and Lois Whelchel Singleton. He was a member of the Belmont Baptist Mission.
He is survived by his parents, one sister Ann, his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Welchel of Gaffney and, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Henry Singleton of Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon from Belmont Baptist Mission, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. George Jeffcoat and the Rev. Roland Williamson. Interment will be in Crescent Hill Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers are M.B. White, J.W. Birt, Julian R. Stricklin, E.B. Morris, Edward C. Harris, and Fred Blackwell. The body will be carried to the residence at 11 o'clock Saturday morning.
