OBITUARY
December 15, 1898 "Adair County Democrat"
Greenfield, Iowa
Michael Kingery, who died Wednesday of last week, was buried Friday in Greenfield Cemetery. Rev. M. E. Matheny conducted the funeral service. Mr. Kingery was born in 1822 in Ohio and came to Iowa in 1858. He moved to Greenfield about fourteen years ago and had made his home here ever since. Mr. Kingery was of a reserved nature. He kept the even tenor of his way and fulfilled his duty as a citizen and neighbor in a Christian manner. He was a devoted husband to his crippled wife and although his burden of life was heavy and without many pleasures, he did his duty without a murmur and complained not about his lot in life. He worked hard and honestly to accumulate his share of this world's goods and although his efforts were not crowned with abundant success, he never faltered until he fell with his harness on and was compelled to give up the fight of life. The aged and crippled wife and family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
