Betty Lou Merry, age 76, of Jefferson City, passed away November 30, 2008, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born February 18, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of George and Blanche (Wezy) Caluza. Betty graduated High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was also a factory worker making change machines and telephones. She worked for Super D Drugstore of Jefferson City as well as the cafeteria in the Capitol. She also worked as a laundry attendant at B Clean laundry. She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping others immensely. Some of her joys in life were making sock dolls, attending Church at least twice a week, and reading her tattered Bible daily.

She is survived by: two sons, Jimmy McGill and his wife Priscilla of Indianapolis, Indiana and Timothy McGill of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Janese Brunette and her husband Jim of Holts Summit, Missouri and Robin Ferguson and her husband Pat of Indianapolis, Indiana; She was preceded in death by two sisters; one brother; and her daughter, Josephine Daisy McBride.

Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday December 3, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lowell Perkins officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Longview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Samaritan Center.
