L.J.M. BELL DIES AT 102, HEARD'S OLDEST CITIZEN
Franklin, Georgia, March 5th
L.J.M. Bell, Heard County's oldest citizen, died at his home 3 miles west of Franklin, Tuesday night. He was 102 years old last August. He had seen three wars. The deceased moved to this county from Coweta in 1836. The county at that time was covered with virgin forest and many deer and turkey were to be found in these woods. Uncle Luke, as he was commonly known, was a respected citizen.
