Sec B Grave 376Captain John Hilleker is the son of Hendrick Hilleker and Jane (Yerks) Hilleker.

John was a Sergeant and later Captain in the Revolutionary War. John married first, Elizabeth, daughter of Dirk Storms and Elizabeth (Mey) Storms, by whom he had the following children: Elizabeth, baptized 1769, married James Requa, Jr.; Sarah, baptized 1774; Susanna, baptized 1776; and Hendrick, baptized 1778.

His second wife was Eve Yerks, who died September 17, 1829, in her 71st year. His son, by his second wife, is James Hilleker, baptized September 1790.

The inscription on his headstone reads: "Corruption, ear and worms Shall but refine my flesh Till my triumphant spirit comes To put it on afresh.
