James Pace, Jr. and Lucinda's, fourth child, Warren Sidney Pace born December 28, 1837, Shelby County, Illinois, is the common ancestor to most of the Paces of the Gateway, Sinbad, Paradox, Kirk's Basin, Sally's Hollow, Castle Valley and Moab area. These Paces trace their history directly to Sidney David Pace and his brother, John Ezra Pace, sons of Warren Sidney Pace.
Warren Sidney Pace married Mary Jane Fairbanks born February 2, 1841, Patterson, New Jersey, on April 2, 1857, Payson, Utah. Mary Jane's parents were David Fairbanks born in Vermont and Susan Mandeville born in New Jersey. David Fairbanks was born March 14, 1810 in Peru, Vermont and Susan Mandeville was born September 23, 1819 at Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Mary Jane was one of Utah's first pioneers coming in 1847 with her parents in Captain John Taylor's Company, the first Company of pioneers to enter Utah following President Brigham Young. Mary Jane lived in Payson until 1907 about four years after her husband Warren died in Payson. Warren died December 21, 1903 and is buried in Payson along with Mary Jane who died January 28, 1926 in Provo.
The Fairbanks history starts with Jonathan Fairbanks coming to America in the 1600's'and he died December 5, 1668 at Dedham, Massachusetts. His son Jonas Fairbanks who was in the Pace line, was killed February 10, 1676 in Massachusetts by Indians. Jonathan Fairbanks' home still stands today with additions and today the home is a famed landmark open to tours by the public. Anne of Green Gables, a motion picture was made on the estate. The Mandevilles came to America from Holland and their name was originally Jansen De Mandeville.
Warren Sidney and Mary Jane had six children. Their first child was Sidney David born January 1, 1858, Payson, Utah, then James Byron born May 31, 1860, Payson, Utah, Mary Lucretia born December 26, 1863, Payson, Utah. Their fourth child was John Ezra born September 5, 1867, Payson, Utah, then Susan Ada born March 4, 1871, Payson, Utah and Ruth Matilda born May 7, 1858, Payson, Utah.
