Doris was born March 19, 1923, the daughter of Ernest and Agnes (Ranney) Wilsey. She was born and raised in Menomonie. She attended Menomonie schools and graduated from high school in 1941. After high school, she worked at Presto Industries, Shed and Brown and later at the Pillsbury Co. in Minneapolis. Doris married George Dobbe on Aug. 10, 1968, at Hennepin United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. After marriage, they lived in Minneapolis. Due to ill health, she moved to rural Rock Falls to live with her sister and family, where she remained the rest of her life. Doris enjoyed singing in the Pillsbury Choir; playing cards, especially Old Maid; and dancing. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Doris is survived by her husband, George; one sister, Beatrice Rinholen of Rock Falls; one brother, Orvil (Dorothy) Wilsey of Altoona; one sister-in-law, Edna Wilsey of Menomonie; many nieces; nephew; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Donald Wilsey; a stepson, Randall Dobbe; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Rinholen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Rock Falls. The Rev. Dale Horner will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Falls Cemetery, rural Menomonie.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church.
