Services for Arno H. Lessin, 90, long-time Wagoner resident were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Murphy officiating.
He was born Dec. 8, 1917 in McCausland, Iowa to his parents, Fritz and Freda (Rasche) Lessin. After growing up in McCausland and attending the one-room school house, Arno enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought in World War II.
In 1949, he was married to Lena Fayrene Quigley, and they made their home in Claremore. He moved his family southwest of Wagoner in 1959 where he farmed until his retirement. He died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 in Broken Arrow.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Faye Lessin; his brothers, Wilbur and Fred Lessin and by his sisters, Bernice Kindelsperger and Gladys Faso.
He is survived by: his son, Daryl Lessin of Wagoner; his daughter-in-law, Claudia Lessin; a grandson, Shawn Miles of Wagoner; great-grandchildren Dylan and Logan Miles, also of Wagoner; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
