Emma Meta Henderson Anderson, 95, St. Clair, died at St. Clair March 26, 2002.

She was born in Robertsville November 1, 1906, daughter of Elmer Cole and Luretta Cole, nee Bay.

On October 3, 1923, she was united in marriage to William Edward Henderson and seven children were born to this union.

On August 8, 1981, she was united in marriage to Charles Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Clair.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Luretta (Bay) Cole; her husband, William Henderson; her second husband, Charles Anderson; one son, Alvin Ely Henderson; two daughters, Martha Winandy and Beulah Moss; and two brothers, Ray Cole and Charles Cole.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Reed and husband Bob, St. Clair, Judy Darden and husband Mike, Ocean Shores, Washington, Joyce Daniele, St. Louis, and Sandra Bopp and husband Tony, Harrisonburg, Virginia; one brother, Harold Cole, Alton, Illinois; two sisters, Effie Weeks and Bernice Enos, both of Alton, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Imogene Henderson, St. Charles; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 28, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with Rev. Dr. Phil Turner officiating.

Interment was in Mitchell Cemetery, Robertsville.
