The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born June 25, 1900, in Coles County, the daughter of Chauncey and Viola Cisna Williams. She married Ross Chism in 1917; he died in 1977.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Chism of Clyde, Ohio, Howard Chism of Lerna, Larry Chism of Grand Island, N.Y., and Garry Chism of Morton; five daughters, Lucille Ferguson of Urbana, Mrs. John (Nadine) Blagg of Mattoon, Mrs. Jack (Joan) Seaborn of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Robert (Jean) Hawkins of Charleston, and Mrs. Russell (Shirley) Pankey of Grand Canyon, Ariz.; 35 grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three sons, two brothers and a grandchildren.
Mrs. Chism and her husband operated the Chism Auction and Variety Store in Charleston for many years.
Memorials may be made to the activity fund of Hilltop Convalescent Center, 910 W. Polk, Charleston, IL 61920.
