Born about 1843 in Bath County, Kentucky, David Boaz was the eldest son of Thomas and Sarah (Darnell) Boaz. He served in the Confederate Army in Company M of the 7th Kentucky Regiment. He died in Hospital # 1 in Nashville, Tennessee. One of his brother-in-law's, William Pieratt, served in the Union Army from Kentucky.
