Robert was born to James and Margueretta(Hall)Blair in Decatur, Washington, Ohio. He was the 2nd of 12 children. On 26 Feb 1845 in Marrow, Washington, Ohio he married Margaret Simpson Bailey. Together they would have 8 Children. Robert enlisted in Co. F, 12th Missouri Cavalry on 15 Oct 1863 In Sullivan Co, MO. Records clearly state Robert was tending to his Captain for several weeks prior to coming down with the same disorder, dysentery. He died of chronic diarrhea in a local hospital. However, the hospital would state his condition was caused by being in a POW Camp. Although Robert was a POW at a much earlier period, that is not where the disorder was contracted. His life taken too soon and as his 3rd great granddaughter I thank him for his time and ultimate sacrifice in service.
