Obituary. Pauline Adams Nelson passed away Saturday, June 26, 2004, at UVRMC after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her most cherished possession - her family. Pauline was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family.

Pauline was born December 27, 1926, in Oakley, Idaho, to Ross and Theria Adams. The first of four children, she shared her birthday with her youngest brother, John, and her oldest daughter, Dana. She grew up on a large farm where she learned the value of hard work, picking potatoes and raspberries.

She attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, where she met her eternal companion, Carl J. Nelson, who had just returned from serving overseas in the U.S. Army in WWII. They married November 6, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was employed by Payson City Hospital, Nebo School District, and the LDS Church.

Mom is remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of the Gospel, and her gracious attitude towards others. She enjoyed classical music, embroidery, gardening, beautiful flowers (especially the roses given her by Carl), and reading of all subjects. Even in the midst of many health trials, she was positive and thankful for her many blessings.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Carl J. Nelson; children: Mark Nelson (Debbie), Dana Oliver (Don), Ross Nelson (Karin), Kevin Nelson (Gwen), David Nelson (Sherry), and Karel Nelson. She is survived by 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Theria Adams; siblings: Ramona, Rulon, and John.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2004, 11 a.m., at the West Ward Chapel, 5255 West 10400 South, (3 miles West of Payson on Utah Ave.). Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson; and, at the church, Thursday morning from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
