A native of Randolph County, she was the wife of the late Everett Wesley Garner and George Hughes Beal and the daughter of Charles Stedman and Mattie Cox Stedman, both deceased. She retired from the textile industry.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Beal and wife, Carol of Haverhill, Mass., Jerry Garner and wife, Marguerite of Burlington and Larry G. Beal and wife, Eileen of Converse, TX; one sister, Beulah McKinnon of Burlington; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard D. Garner, Sr., three sisters and two brothers.
