Mr. Kimrey was born Dec. 7, 1911, at Wimer, Okla., to Harold Lee and Lillie Emeline (Burks) Kimrey. He was a self-employed blacksmith and welder, owning the Kimrey Shop in Edna for more than 60 years. He attended the Pettit School in rural Craig County, Okla. He also attended the Lake Creek School in rural Bartlett. He enjoyed playing the fiddle. He also enjoyed cats. On July 9, 1944, he married Marion Irene Cole. She preceded him in death May 3, 1989. Survivors include: two sons, Harold L. Kimrey of rural Lenapah, Okla., and Alva E. "Peewee" Kimrey of rural Copan, Okla.; a daughter, Donna Kimrey of rural Edna; a brother, Joe Kimrey of Edna; a sister, Ruby Acridge of Edna; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Allean Banzet, eight brothers, two sisters and a grandson. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Edna. Burial will follow in North Edna Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Penwell- Gabel Graves Chapel. Memorial contributions can be given to the First Responder Unit in Edna.
