He was united in marriage to Magdalena "Mattie" Kennel on Feb 6, 1879. Their children were Catherine "Katie," Christian K., John, Mose, Rachel, David and Menno.
He united with the Mennonite Church in his early days and was a faithful member until his death. The deceased had suffered a few strokes of paralysis a few years ago. At the time of his death, he was quite well. He left the house to get the cows and death came on his way home.
The funeral services were in charge of the brethren, J. D. Birky and Peter Oswald of Beemer, Nebr. Remains were laid to rest in adjoining cemetery.
