Vera Stiles Cecil, 65, of Cox's Creek, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

Mrs. Cecil was born December 6, 1942 in Louisville and was a graduate of Bethlehem High School. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Valley Hill in Springfield. She was a member of St. Gregory Parish and the St. Gregory Altar Society.

Preceded in death by: Her husband of 43 years: William E. "Bud" Cecil; and her parents: John "Jack" Breckinridge Stiles and Shirley Stark Stiles Gross.

Survived by 3 sons: Kris Cecil of Cox's Creek, Kevin Cecil of Bardstown and Kerry Cecil of Louisville; 2 daughters: Kim Wright of Fairburn, GA and Kelley Cecil of Lexington; 4 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson; 3 brothers: Billom Stiles of Georgia, Johnny Stiles of Owensboro, and Kenny Stiles of Kansas City, Missouri; and 1 sister: Jackie Peake of Bardstown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Gregory Church with Reverend John Schwartzlose officiating. Burial to follow at St. Gregory Cemetery Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm by Deacon Joe Livers.
