YAKIMA - Charles J. Weedin, 84, Yakima, formerly of Wenatchee, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 1989, at home.
He was born March 3, 1905, at Seattle to Charles William and Catherine Adelaide (Hedges) Weedin. He was raised and educated in Seattle and Wenatchee, graduating from Queen Anne High School in Seattle. He later attended Western Washington University and the University of Washington where he played football.
Mr. Weedin married Bertha Viola Weber at Prosser on June 8, 1929. They lived at Seattle, Portland and Wenatchee before moving to Yakima in 1951. While in Wenatchee, Mr. Weedin worked for Puget Power and Light Co. and owned and operated Home Appliance Co. In Yakima, he was a fruit rancher and an appliance salesman, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 318 and Terrace Heights Presbyterian Church. He attended Selah United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles W. Weedin, Selah, and David D. Weedin, Yakima; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 25, 1984, and a sister.
Shaw and Sons Memorial Chapel, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.
