Born in Cumming, Forsyth County, Georgia, died in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. Married to Adaline Laura Freeze and Laura Ellen Lester. Son of John Whitaker McAfee and & Ann Reynolds/McAfee.

11/4/1905 - Atlanta Constitution - W. W. McAfee, one of the oldest citizens of Atlanta, passed away yesterday morning at the residence of his sister in law, Mrs. M. O. Thompson, 503 Washington street. He had been ill for more than a year.

Mr. McAfee is survived by his wife, MRs. Ella McAfee, and his daughter Mrs. John B. Goodwin.

The deceased was 70 years of age, and was one of Atlanta's pioneer and best known citizens. He was one of the most active Christian workers in the city, being a steward in Trinity Methodist church. He was a contractor and Trinity Church is among the buildings in the city built by him.

The funeral services will be held this afternoon at the chapel of H. M. Patterson & Sons, 96 North Forsyth street. The following will serve as pallbearers; William Goodwin, John B. Goodwin Jr., grandsons and W. W. McAfee Jr., John J. Woodwide, Charles Roberts, Joseph Gause, Hugh Willett, Henry Coleman and Mr. Lowe. Owing to the wide popularity of the deceased, the chapel will doubtless he filled with people during the funeral hour.

W. W. McAfee, as a business man was eminently successful and he added to his splendid business abilities a Christian character and noble disposition that won for him the respect and esteem of all who knew him. His death has been widely regretted not only in Atlanta but throughout Georgia.
