3-Year-Old drowns in Mill Pond
Antony Blair Clark, three year-old son of Mr and Mrs dean c. Clark of Afton, died Friday, Sept 12 at about 7 p.m. at the Star Valley LDS Hospital following a tragic accident in which he fell in a mill pond about 2 p.m. at the Gardner Brothers sawmill leased by his father.
Blair's parents said he had been playing in the area, while his father was working at the mill. He apparently fell into the mill pond, and was found and pulled out by Mr Clark minutes later, apparently drowned. Frantic efforts to revive him through artificial resuscitation were undertaken immediately on the spot and in the hospital for about an hour and a half before he showed any signs of life. He then started breathing on his own but did not regain consciousness.
He lived until about 7 p.m. then went into convulsions and died.
He was born Aug 3, 1966 at Afton to Dean C. and Yvonne Gardner Clark.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Afton First Ward Chapel, with counselor Kay L. Robinson conducting. Burial was in the Afton Cemetery.
Blair was a sweet little boy, much loved by his parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and relatives and friends who knew him.
He is survived by his parents; a sister, Diane; four brothers, Jan Dean, Randall, Jeffrey and Steven; his maternal grandfather, Franklin R. Gardner, all of Afton; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs Lavinia Clark, Brigham City, Utah,
