Andrew P. Andersen, son of Rasmus P. Andersen and Anne Andersen, was born August 11, 1909 on a farm between Hardy and Ruskin and passed away May 19, 1977, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 8 days. On November 22, 1961, he was united in marriage to Louise Hespen of Deshler. He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the Fifth Armored Division in the European Theatre. He was a farmer in the Hardy and Nora area until retiring. He has been a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his widow, Louise; brother, Elmer of Farmington, New Mexico, sisters, Olga and Bertha Andersen of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Leona Andersen of Hastings; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Victor and an infant brother.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, May 22, from The Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend John Sorenson officiating. Two vocal selections were sung by Hartley Petersen, accompanied by Carlita Price. Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery at Ruskin.
