Jane Amanda Hufford was the daughter of Aquilla and Sarah Jordan. She was born in Hendricks county, Indiana, December 13, 1856, and departed this life on September 21, 1938, at the age of 81 years, nine months and eight days. She had lived her entire life in Hendricks county.
She was married to David Hufford on September 30, 1884. Her husband died May 12, 1898.
In her young womanhood she united with the Christian church of Danville. She was faithful to her church through the years until ill health prevented her. For more than three years prior to her death, she was an invalid.
She will be greatly mourned by a brother, George N. Jordan, of Lafayette; two cousins, Mrs. Charles Higgins and Miss Emma Christie, both of Danville, a nephew, John Robinson, who resided with her, and many other nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
