While residing at Hannibal, La., last February, Mrs. Anderson suffered a stroke of paralysis and returned to this city on Feb. 14 to the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. J. Smith, 811 South Douglas avenue, with whom she lived while in this city. On May 1 she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Byers, where she suffered a second stroke which finally resulted in her death.
Deceased was born in Sangamon county, being a daughter of Charles and Ann Cordelia Aulsbury [Alsbury]of Woodside. On April 14, 1861,[note: according to Illinois Marriages Records, Ann Alsbury married John W. Anderson April 4, 1861 in Sangamon County, Illinois] she was united in marriage to John Anderson, who was a prominent farmer and stock raiser of this county. He died Dec. 26, 1893. To them ten children were born, three dying in infancy. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. J. G. Byers of Woodside, Mrs. M. J. Smith of this city, Mrs. O. A. Garber of East St. Louis and Mrs. Samuel E. Moore of Williamsville, one brother, J. C. Aulsbury of Palmyra and sixteen grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at the residence of Mrs. J. G. Byers. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
