Wife of J.W.
From "The Journal, North Manchester"
October 27,1887:
"Mrs. Hull, the wife of John Hull, formerly of this township, died at her home in Zionsville, Kansas, last Friday of blood poisoning after only a short illness. Mr. Hull at once started for this place with his wife's body to bury her beside her relatives, but owing to railroad delays he did not arrive here with his sorrowful burden until late Monday evening. She was the daughter of Daniel Frederick, a well known farmer living south of this place, and no one who has not passed through a similar ordeal can describe the feeling of her parents and brothers when on being awakened at midnight they found her corpse at their door, without any warning, as Mr. Hull expecting to reach here sooner, had not telegraphed them of her death. Her relatives are heart broken, and have the sympathy of the whole community. The funeral took place at Fairview Church Tuesday afternoon and was quite largely attended, owing to the shortness of the time. Sermon Rev. D. Hida. Mrs Hull was an excellent woman, the mother of six children, who still survive her. With her husband she moved to Kansas a few years ago. Her brother, Jacob Frederick, had arranged to pay them a visit and had bought his tickets Tuesday morning, and their arrival with his sister's corpse, a few hours before only prevented him from being absent from her funeral. Mr Hull will visit a few days with friends here before returning to his home."
