Atlanta Constitution - 11/22/1881 - The remains of Duff Hanvey were laid to rest Sunday evening at five o'clock in Oakland cemetery. At four o'clock the funeral services were had at Major Hanvey's residence, on Hunter street, and was largely attended. The body, as it lay in the casket literally covered with flowers, the gifts of his many friends, was viewed by a very large number of acquaintances. The pall-bearers were friends and associates of the dead boy. They were Messrs. ___rd R. Cooper, Henry Beerman, Clyde ____ic, Charley Ralls, Lopez Johnson and ____ie Franklin. The procession was a long ____ and when the coffin was lowered into the grave, many a sigh was heaved by those whose friendship Duff had won by his uniform kindness and politeness. He was during life, the pride of his home and his death has left a gloom that can never be dispelled. He was just twenty years of age.

This article was at the left edge of the newspaper and was torn, so that some of the words could not be made out. I put as much as could possibly be read.
