Margaret Anna Wagner, age 98, of Danbury, died Wed. November 19, 2008 in Danbury. She was born January 9, 1910 in Crucina, Romania, daughter of the late Henrich and Francis (Gantdner) Hess. Mrs. Wagner moved to the United States in 1928 and married Fritz R. Wagner in New York, N.Y., on February 3, 1940. They settled in the Brewster, Carmel area in 1946 and Mrs. Wagner lived there until she moved to Danbury two years ago. Mrs. Wagner worked for Dudly Knit Wear in New York City for 22 years before retiring in 1962. She was a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster, the Southeast Senior Citizens, AARP, she loved gardening baking and crocheting. Mrs. Wagner was predeceased by her husband Fritz on July 9, 1982. She was also predeceased by her two sons, Frank G. and Conrad A. Wagner. She is survived by nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2008 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church. Internment will follow in St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery. Calling hours will be held today Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY 10509.
