Prior to his retirement, he had been engaged in farming in Frederick County. He was a member of the Faith United Church of Christ in Charlesville.
Surviving are one brother, Ralph L. Zimmerman, Annapolis; one sister, Mrs. Bertha M. Thomas, Frederick; one nephew and four nieces.
The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadeley, Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St. on Friday, May 20, from 7 to p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Theodore E. Haas, pastor of the Grace United Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in the Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery, Charlesville.
