Florence C Blinn was married to Jacob Startzman Parsons; they were my great grandparents.
Her father Mortimer Blinn is also buried in this cemetery. Her mother Amanda Morhouse Blinn is buried in San Luis Obispo Cemetery, in San Luis Obispo (SLO), San Luis Obispo County, CA. Amanda's grave site is in the very oldest part of the SLO cemetery and unfortunately there is no gravestone.

Florence and Jacob's son Abraham, is Abraham R Parsons, not Abraham P as stated in her obit.

The Blinns have a very long and proud history from colonial times in New England and hale from Wethersfield Connecticut. The Patriarch, Peter Blinn, lived in Wethersfield CT, migrating there from France (it is believed they were Huguenots) in 1640. In this direct descending line we have an American Revolution Patriot: Billy Blinn Sr. who also served in the French and Indian War (the seven year war).
We also have a veteran of the War of 1812, his son Billy Blinn Jr. Billy Blinn Jr. also served in the American Revolution.
Florence's husband, Jacob S Parsons, haled from West Virginia. The patriarch of this Parsons line was Thomas Isaac Parsons, Born about 1665 in Somerset, England. He emigrated from England to Philadelphia PA in about 1685 and worked with William Penn. This was a devout Quaker family. This Thomas 1 married and left England shortly after getting out of prison for his religious beliefs and refusing to pay taxes to the Church of England.

In that direct line we have also an American Revolutionary War patriot, Thomas Parsons III.

In about 1872, Abraham Parsons moved 17 of the Parsons family from West Virginia to Gonzales, Monterey County, California. This was after the 1950 statehood for California, so we do not quality as California Pioneers.
His son Washington Parsons, it is fabled, started the Gonzales Cemetery in order to bury three of his young children who died here. More than likely these children, some very young, died from Diphtheria.
This line of the Parsons are buried in the oldest section of Gonzales Cemetery (A-07). The tiny half circle tombstones of the small children is heart breaking to see.
