She was born in Cleveland, Idaho on September 6 1916 to Levi Newell Kendall and Olive Butler Austin. At about the age of two 1/2 she was adopted by Lyman Albert Andrus and Emily Ames along with her infant brother Deveral Noel Andrus.
Mom lived in several states during her life and in California in 1934 she met Orval Fillmore Stone. They were married on July 28, 1934. They had one child. A daughter Shirley Beatrice. They later divorced.
In 1945, Mom met and married Willard Lockwood. In 1951, they adopted a son, Jay Brent Lockwood born on January 24, 1951 in San Jose, California. They later divorced. After 54 years apart Orval Stone and Mom were remarried on October 18, 1988 and lived in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, belonging to the Helena 4th Ward.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter Shirley Vermillion (Earl) of Helena, MT, her sister Lola Kendall Hoesch (Art) of Far West, UT and brothers Lea R Kendall, Clearfield, UT, Loyal Kendall, Rock Springs, WY and sister-in-law Bonnie Kendall, Taylorsville, UT, five grandchildren, Larry Vermillion, Helena, MT, Charlene Knight (Jay), Springville, UT, Patricia West (Fred), Hamilton, MT, James Vermillion (Mary), Hamilton, MT and Brian Vermillion (Dani), East Helena, MT, 11 great-grandchildren, Kara Richins (Ryan), Brady Jay Knight, Katy Knight, Devon Knight, Tyler Vermillion, Gage Vermillion, Parker Vermillion, Cooper Vermillion, Selway Vermillion, Meakin Vermillion and Kadic Vermillion, two great-great-grandchildren Makalya Richins and Max Richins. She is also survived by her beloved dogs Burdo and Penny.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orval Stone and husband Willard Lockwood, her biological parents Levi and Olive Kendall and her adopted parents Lyman and Emily Andrus, her son Jay Brent Lockwood, brothers DeWayne Kendall, Ray Kendall, Glenn Kendall, Deveral Andrus and his wife Dorothy Spaulding Andrus.
Funeral arrangements are being held at the Helena Funeral Chapel with later interment and Graveside Services on Monday at 3 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
