Lois was born on January 29, 1923 in Mapleton, Utah to Anthon P. Johnson and Margaret E. Thomas. She graduated from Springville High School and attended BYU. She married Don N. Swenson on August 12, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was blessed with five sons and one daughter, all of whom she loved dearly. Lois was a kind, compassionate woman with a lively sense of humor whose life was spent serving her family, friends, and neighbors. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, serving faithfully in many callings, including Relief Society President. Mom created a home filled with learning, love and laughter. She was an excellent cook and an even better storyteller.
She is survived by her husband Don, children Hal (Diane), Kay (Bryan) Money, Brad (Maureen), daughter-in-law Hanalee, Rick (Michele), and Ryan; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley J. Thorn; brothers, Ronald and Alan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her son Gary, her parents, three sisters (Lucille, Bernice, and Margaret) and two brothers (Edward and Roy).
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 4th Ward Chapel (381 East 400 North). A viewing will be held on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary (187 South Main Street) and on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Church prior to the services.
Interment at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery following the services.
