Excerpt -- Mrs. Laura Roth Shaffer, wife of Lloyd C. Shaffer, aged 79, died at her home in Oakland Thursday of last week. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Arnold Scherr of Keyser, Miss. Nellie Shaffer of Wheeling, Mrs. J. Edgar Long of Clarksburg, Herbert Shaffer of Fairmont, Miss Floss at home, and Mrs. Moffett of Morgantown. She is also survived by one brother, Will Roth of Eglon. The Shaffer family were residents of Kingwood for four years while Mr. Shaffer was sheriff of Preston County. The funeral was held in Oakland last Saturday and burial was made at Aurora.
