Martha Cummins Basenberg
A memorial service for Martha Cummins Basendbery, 83, of Kingwood Texas and Cullman will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2007 at Seventh Street Baptist Church, with Dr. William Burkett officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemtery in Hanceville. Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Basenberg died April 6 at Park Manor in Humble, Tx. She was born March 27, 1924 in Brooksvile, MS to George W. Cummins and Linda B. Womach Cummins. She met her husband of 61 years, Albert W. Basenburg, Sr., in Mobile during World War II and has since lived in Mississippi and Alabama until moving to Kingwood, TX in 2005. She was a homemaker and has been active in the Baptist church for most of her life, most recently, a member of the Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cullman.
She was preced in death by her husband, her parents, and a son-in-law,, Oral I Conyers. Survivors include a son, Albert Wilson (Donna) Basenburg, Jr., of Kingwood TX; a daughter, Linda B. Conyers of Cumming, GA; two granddaughters, Leslie (Mike) Whittle and Courtney Basenberg; a sister Mary Ann McLemore; a sister-in-law Maggie Basenberg; three step grandchildren, Tamea (Art) Isham, Bruce (Peggy) Conyers and Julie (Cliff) Jo; four step great grandchildren and three step great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society
Visitation will be Monday, April 9, form 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home
