Mrs. Artie Ellen Garrett Forman, 70, wife of Anderson Forman, of 1121 Brooks Street, died at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday at Hayswood Hopsital. Ill since she contracted pneumonia December 29, she had been hospitalized since January 13.

Mrs. Forman in declining health for several years, was a member of the Tollesboro Methodist church and was a woman endowed with a collection of worthy character traits. She was a devoted wife and mother, a cooperative neightbor and a true and loyal friend whose help could always be counted upon. All who knew her will mourn her sincerely.

Born in Lewis county April 4, 1879, she was a native of Lewis County. Her father, John Garrett, who was born in Virginia and her mother, Mary Crabtree Garrett, was an Ohioan by birth.

In this city on March 14, 1908, she was married to Mr. Forman, who is engaged in farming.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons and a daughter, Carl N. and Raymond Forman and Mrs. W.S. Brammer, all of this city, and Cpl. Arthur T. Forman, with the 8th Army Signal Corps in Japan. Also she leaves four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Garrett, of this city, Mrs. Joe Steele, of Harlan Co, Mrs. Jack Laytham, of Tollesboro, and Mrs. Joe Breeze, of West Union, and three brothers, Frank Garrett, of West Union, Waldo Garrett, of Trinity, and George Garrett, of Ripley.

Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery.
