Mrs. Nola Jean Barger Adkins, age 75, was called on home, Monday, September 29, 2008 at her home in Harriman. She was formerly of Morgan County and she was a lifelong seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Noble and Ruth Barger; and daughters: Cathy and Linda Adkins. She is survived by her husband of 60 1/2 years: William L. Adkins; children: Viola (Tootsie) and Jerry Tate, and Ketta and Lee Smith of Harriman; Keith and Tammy Adkins of Ten Mile; and Shirley and John Seely of Kevil, KY; Eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters: Charles and Sissy Barger of Wartburg; Joyce and Charles Osborne of Columbus, GA; Martha and Ted Keylon and Mildred and Jack Morton of Harriman; Henry and Barbara Barger of Rockwood; and Carl and Ben Calvin Barger of Perry, GA. Also a host of special nieces, nephews, many special friends, neighbors, and camping friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 1st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Mason Goodman and Bro. Steve Turner officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sunbright
