OLLIE GENEVA MEARS

Mrs. Ollie Geneva Mears, age 89, of Bonifay, Florida passed away May 31, 2021 at her home. She was born July 17, 1931 in Colquitt, Georgia to the late Corley and Allie Cowart Cannon. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Mears, one son, Colly Mears, two brothers, Johnny Mac Cannon and Ras Cannon, one sister, Mammie Johnson, a son-in-law, James Lott, and one granddaughter, Nicole Mears.

Mrs. Mears is survived by two sons, Terry Mears and wife Tudy of Bonifay, FL and Tilman Mears and wife Edith of Citra, FL; three daughters, Ola Lott of Chipley, FL, Judy Horn and husband Terry of Jacksonville, FL, and Nellie Summerall and husband Danny of Fort McCoy, FL; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Mount Zion Independent Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Boroughs officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonifay Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Peel Funeral Home.
