Howard Leon "Lee" Hodkin was born 21 Oct 1903 in Carthage, Missouri. He was the son of Jasper Francis "Frank" and Amanda (Holdeman) Hodkin. Lee married Zedia Myrtle Campbell Hensley on 26 April 1924.

Lee and Zedia were the parents of Betty Lee, Wanda Mae, Mary Frances and Jo Ann Hodkin. Zedia passed away 5 July 1965.

Lee owned his own construction company from 1946 to 1993 and built many homes and buildings in the Carthage area. He was a well known and respected member of the community.

Lee and Zedia both enjoyed fishing and took an annual fishing trip to Balm Lake Resort in Pinewood, Minnesota from 1950 to 1975.

Lee died 17 February 1983 in Carthage, Missouri. Funeral services were held at Ulmer Funeral Home. The Rev. John A. Weissler, OMI, officiated and Miss Betty Anne Wyatt played organ selections. Pallbearers were Leslie Strait, Scott Campbell, Bob Dykens, Charles M. Six, Dave Reber and Jerry Perry. Burial was in Park Cemetery.
