Frank Joseph Stauber, 84, a resident of Laona since 1902, died at his home Friday. He was a retired planing mill foreman for Connor Forest Industries.
The body was taken to Halverson Funeral Home, Crandon, where it lay in state after 2 p.m. Monday. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Leonard Catholic church at Laona, the Rev. S. A. Stern officiating. Burial was in Laona cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Norbert Stauber Jr., Steven, Jeffrey and Gary Stauber, and Ronald and Michael Medenwaldt.
The son of John and Francis (Meidl) Stauber was born September 20, 1885 at Marshfield. He married the former Anna Treml on April 27, 1909 and she preceded him in death December 11, 1958. He was a member of St. Leonard's church at Laona, the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society.
Survivors are two sons, Clem, DesPlaines, Illinois and Norbert, Laona; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Barrett, Marshfield and Miss Pauline, Chicago and one brother, John, Marshfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna, daughter Mary Lorna "Dolly" Medenwaldt, son Alvin George, brothers Charles, Joseph, and Louis, and sisters Mary and Theresia.
