Mr. J.T. Connor Succumbs

John Thomas Conner, 77 years of age, a native of Jefferson County, Ala., but a resident of George County for the past 36 years, died at the Mobile Infirmary, at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday of last week, September 29.

Mr. Conner had been in failing health for a number of years, but until recently had been able to be up and about. He became ill, and was carried to the hospital, but all medical science was to no avail.

Funeral services were held Sept. 30 (Thursday) at 3:00 p.m. at the family residence in the Barton Community, with Dr. Fred B. Moseley in charge, assisted by Rev. G.S. Jenkins. Interment was in Magnolia cemetery, with Fails Funeral Service directing.

Pallbearers were Ross C. Smiths, Van Ray Dungan, George M. Howell, J.W. Cook, R.G. Sullivan and Donald Cook.

The deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. A.L. Cook, Mrs. H.E. Dungan and Mrs. E.T. Terry, all of Lucedale, two sons, James F. Conner, of Lucedale and Charles W. Conner, of Mobile, 13 grandchildren and other relatives.
