He lived most of his life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a child of the depression era he developed a keen appreciation for hard work, honor, respect and most important to him, love of family. Highly intellectual, he possessed a quick wit and charm that captivated those who knew him. A Veteran of the Korean War, he spent the majority of his career as a purchasing agent for several heat exchanger companies, but he took an extended leave of absence from work to care for our critically ill mother so that she would not have to be placed in a nursing home. What would have seemed a great sacrifice for most men was a typical act of love for our father, as family was everything to him. His interests were quite simple, he loved to go to Las Vegas, play cards and the stock market, but his great love was being in the presence of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who he deeply loved. The last year of his life he was in failing health and he passed away as the result of a risky surgical procedure that if successful, could have improved his quality of life. Fully aware of the risk involved, he chose to proceed with absolutely no fear and his last words to his children before he died were, "You are the crowning achievement of my life". Our father was indeed a great man and he will be missed. Les was preceded in death by his wife, and our mother, Jean in 1989. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 12 p.m. at Floral Haven Cemetery.
